Open Source Work

A new utility to convert XCCDF to PDF and other formats, xccdf2pdf, was released as shareware to the XCCDF and OVAL communities. It is the result of a collaboration between NW&A and Gary Gapinski using extensive XSLT wrapped in Java. Licensed under the Apache License, version 2.0, this license means xccdf2pdf is free for commercial or non-commercial use, and you may modify and/or redistribute it if you wish. It has been tested on openSUSE linux with Java 6 using the FDCC-Windows-XP v1.1.1.0 benchmark (for more information on the FDCC benchmarks, check out http://nvd.nist.gov/ncp.cfm). We're in the process of testing on Microsoft Windows and OS X with other benchmarks. It is available on SourceForge. Feedback is welcome!
